MASS
Storage Structure
Edition of 10 + 2 Artist Proofs
AD1369105 - 2024
MASS is conceived as a horizontal volume stabilized by weight. A rectilinear steel body rests on irregular stone supports, elevating the unit while reinforcing its physical gravity. The object does not conceal its load; it asserts it.
The steel enclosure establishes containment and precision. Stone bases introduce compression and resistance, interrupting the continuity of the rectangular form. Storage is treated as structural condition — a volume defined by what it holds and what it resists.
MASS investigates grounded presence. It stabilizes opposing materials within a single system: forged plane and raw support, enclosure and exposure. The object operates as a compact architectural mass — weight organized into function.
