CONTRAST INTERIOR
Batumi, Georgia
2023
The interior is conceived as a calm and restrained spatial composition defined by the contrast between light architectural surfaces and dark wooden volumes. The project explores a minimal spatial language where material and proportion become the primary expressive elements.
The layout is organized around an open living space that combines the kitchen, dining area, and lounge. Large openings and simple geometry create a clear spatial structure while maintaining visual continuity across the apartment.
Material contrast plays a central role in the interior. Light floors and white walls establish a neutral architectural background, while dark wood panels and cabinetry introduce depth and spatial hierarchy.
Furniture and lighting are reduced to essential forms. A low modular sofa, a transparent dining table, and minimal lighting fixtures reinforce the quiet character of the interior without introducing unnecessary visual complexity.
The project reflects an approach where minimal architecture is defined by balance and precision — a space where light, material contrast, and clear geometry shape the atmosphere of everyday living.

BATUMI
Batumi is a coastal city located on the eastern shore of the Black Sea and serves as the main urban center of Georgia’s Adjara region. Positioned between the sea and the mountainous landscape of southwestern Georgia, the city is defined by the strong presence of both natural and urban environments.
The historic center of Batumi is characterized by early twentieth-century architecture and a dense urban fabric, while newer districts reflect the city’s contemporary development. Modern buildings stand alongside historic structures, forming a layered cityscape shaped by the sea, subtropical vegetation, and the surrounding mountain horizon.
