RIMAL OBJECT INTERIOR

Batumi, Georgia
2023

The interior is conceived as a spatial composition where objects behave like architectural elements rather than simple furniture. The project explores the relationship between primitive material forces and contemporary minimal space, creating an environment where each object carries both functional and symbolic meaning.

The composition is built around a small number of strong elements that structure the space. A massive wooden seating volume, stone bases, and arched forms introduce a sculptural presence that organizes the interior visually and spatially. These elements create a calm but powerful hierarchy within the open living area.

The layout remains simple and clear. Living, dining, and kitchen spaces are connected in a continuous sequence, allowing movement and visual flow without interruption. Bedrooms and private areas maintain the same restrained spatial language, emphasizing quietness and balance rather than complexity.

Materiality plays a central role in the concept. Raw stone, natural wood, soft textiles, and neutral surfaces create a dialogue between rough natural matter and refined architectural geometry. Lighting elements emphasize the structure of the space while maintaining a soft and calm atmosphere.

The project treats the interior as a place of reflection rather than decoration. Objects appear grounded in the earth while the space itself remains minimal and open, allowing material, light, and silence to shape the character of the environment.

BATUMI

Batumi is a coastal city located on the eastern shore of the Black Sea and serves as the main urban center of Georgia’s Adjara region. Positioned between the sea and the mountainous landscape of southwestern Georgia, the city is defined by the strong presence of both natural and urban environments.

The historic center of Batumi is characterized by early twentieth-century architecture and a dense urban fabric, while newer districts reflect the city’s contemporary development. Modern buildings stand alongside historic structures, forming a layered cityscape shaped by the sea, subtropical vegetation, and the surrounding mountain horizon.
