CORE

Suspended Light Structure

Edition of 8 + 2 Artist Proofs

AD1369105 - 2021

CORE examines containment through repetition. A cylindrical field of interlinked steel chains forms a permeable envelope around a central light source. The structure is neither opaque nor transparent; it operates as a controlled membrane regulating visibility and emission.

Light passes through the chain matrix in fragments, breaking into rhythmic shadow. The surface vibrates optically while remaining materially rigid. Illumination is not diffused freely but filtered, measured, and stabilized within a vertical axis.

CORE investigates the relationship between enclosure and release. The object does not dramatize light; it constrains it. Energy remains present at the center, contained within a suspended structure where density and permeability coexist in equilibrium.
