INTERSECTION

Seating Structure

Edition of 8 + 2 Artist Proofs

AD1369105 - 2024

INTERSECTION articulates the meeting of vertical and horizontal forces. A steel frame forms an open cubic volume, within which a cross-shaped backrest rises as a structural insert. The object is composed as a junction — two systems intersecting within a defined perimeter.

The base operates as a void rather than a mass, establishing spatial tension between enclosure and emptiness. The vertical element introduces resistance and counterweight, transforming the seat into a point of load transfer. Support is present, yet visually reduced.

INTERSECTION investigates convergence as a structural condition. It does not represent belief or narrative; it formalizes the moment at which opposing axes align. The object stabilizes contradiction through geometry — a seated position defined by compression, alignment, and balance.
