ORIGIN I ORIGIN II
Chair Pair
Edition of 8 + 2 Artist Proofs
AD1369105 - 2024
ORIGIN I and ORIGIN II examine divergence within a shared structural system. Two vertical steel elements rise from a grounded base, separating in silhouette while maintaining identical construction logic. Variation occurs without loss of structural coherence.
The elongated backs operate as directional vectors - lines extended into space rather than ornamental forms. Below, the upholstered volumes introduce density and tactile mass, counterbalancing the vertical thrust. Forged steel and soft textile coexist as opposing forces held in equilibrium.
As a pair, the works articulate differentiation from unity. ORIGIN does not depict nature; it formalizes the moment at which structure begins to separate into distinct identities. Divergence is stabilized within a single architectural framework.
