DISPLACEMENT
Side Table
Edition of 8 + 2 Artist Proofs
AD1369105 - 2024
DISPLACEMENT examines form in a state of arrested transition. The central clay volume appears stable, yet spherical protrusions interrupt its continuity, as if expansion were halted mid-process. The object suggests motion suspended within mass - growth interrupted but not resolved.
The spheres function as spatial interruptions rather than decoration. They displace the expected geometry of a vessel-like body, shifting balance and perception. The table operates between symmetry and deviation, where stability is preserved through controlled imbalance.
Clay retains the memory of pressure and formation. DISPLACEMENT investigates the moment when transformation pauses - when form neither advances nor collapses, but remains fixed in a prolonged state of becoming.
