STELE 175 / 140 / 120

Vertical Structure for Flame

Edition of 8 + 2 Artist Proofs

AD1369105 - 2023

STELE establishes a vertical axis defined by the opposition of mass and elevation. Each structure begins with an unrefined stone base - dense, irregular, resistant. From this grounded weight rises a slender steel rod, terminating in a minimal platform for flame.

The composition is reduced to three operative elements: stone, line, fire. The base anchors the object to gravity; the steel articulates direction; the flame activates the system. Illumination introduces temporal instability into an otherwise static structure.

STELE investigates verticality as a condition of resistance. A standing form subjected to duration, yet structurally stabilized. Matter endures, force rises, combustion persists - contained within a controlled architectural axis..
