THE WHITE SILENCE HOUSE
Tskneti, Tbilisi, Georgia
2019
The house is conceived as a composition of quiet white volumes placed within a forest landscape. Rather than forming a dominant architectural object, the building is designed to exist in balance with its surroundings, allowing the natural environment to remain the primary presence of the site.
The architecture is defined by clear geometric forms and a restrained material palette. White surfaces and vertical façade screens create a subtle rhythm of light and shadow while filtering views toward the surrounding trees. This treatment allows the architecture to maintain a sense of calm abstraction while remaining closely connected to the landscape.
The spatial organization of the house is based on a sequence of open and enclosed areas that gradually unfold through terraces, gardens, and interior spaces. Water surfaces and open platforms introduce moments of reflection and stillness, reinforcing the contemplative character of the architecture.
Inside, the interior continues the same architectural language of clarity and restraint. Clean surfaces, controlled proportions, and natural light create spaces that feel quiet and spacious. Minimal furniture and carefully selected materials emphasize the purity of the architecture and allow the surrounding landscape to remain visually present.
The project explores the idea of silence in architecture — a condition where space, light, and material exist in balance, allowing the house to become a place of calm, reflection, and retreat within the forest environment.

TSKNETI
Tskneti is located on the eastern slope of the Trialeti ridge, in the valley of the Vere River, approximately 800–1100 meters above sea level. The area is defined by forested hills and a cooler mountain climate, forming a natural retreat above the dense urban fabric of Tbilisi.
The landscape of Tskneti is characterized by mature pine forests and gently sloping terrain. Within this environment, residential architecture is positioned among the trees, allowing the natural landscape to remain dominant while houses open toward views of the surrounding forest and mountain horizon.
